Resilience and Emotional Intelligence for Children and Adults

Way2be.me offers a package of fun, drama and active learning programmes for children of all age groups, which are designed specifically to build resilience, emotional intelligence, self-esteem and confidence. Workshops and training are also offered to parents, teachers and others who work with children, for we need to 'get' resilience ourselves in order to be able to help others with these essential life skills.

Resilience is what we term as the 'Bounce Factor', that special something, made up of confidence, self-esteem and emotional intelligence, that helps us to bounce back from problems and deal with life in a way that enables us to reach our potential. Finding, re-learning and calling on resilience are particularly important for children as these will provide them with a life-long skill to beat adversity, cope with stress and to thrive.

The Way2be.me programmes are based on Neuro-linguistic Programming, other positive psychology and strength-based approaches, including evidence-based techniques designed for children. The Way2be.me concept is also based on the principles of the potential for all to succeed, learning modeled on action and building a sense of belonging. All the work is monitored using specially designed tools and other school measures and a written evaluation is provided at the end of the project. The programmes link to school improvement, pupil well-being, citizenship, PHSE, Healthy Schools and the new Ofsted Framework. They are particularly good at supporting the process of 'narrowing the gap' in educational achievement, as being emotionally well and resilient are vital for readiness to learn.
